Pancho & Sal

Spanish and Latin Music

 

With Mediterranean and Latin roots, Pancho and Sal have captured the hearts of young and old audiences

around the world.  Their unique show includes traditional and original music, Latin rhythms and Spanish lyrics

accompanied by guitar, accordion, charango, flutes, drums and percussion instruments. 

They have performed in schools, community centers, theatres and neighborhood houses around the Lower Mainland. 

Working together with teachers, Pancho and Sal raise the awareness of appreciation of the Spanish language and culture. 

Their music and translations during the show inspires the students to participate and sing along.

Pancho & Sal's  highlights include appearances in French and English radios, CBC, 96.1, 102.7, 103.1 FM's, 1540 Am, and CBC TV,  VTV, Shaw TV, Global, City TV, Multicultural channel 20, and numerous festivals and places in the interior of British's Columbia and Vancouver Island.

           

Their live recordings include, 1998 “Vivirei”, 1999 “Cuando Salga La Luna”, 2000 “Revivir”,  and 2003, “El Regalo”.                               

Any one of the CD’s will give enough material to work with classes on translations of the Spanish lyrics.

           

Educational Goal- Introducing traditional and original Latin music, ethnic instruments, and becoming familiar with the

Spanish language and culture. 

Concerts are positive and enthusiastic, taking the audience on a musical tour encouraging them to sing, clap rhythms

and dance.

 

Number in Group- Two (2) or more by request.

Home Base- Vancouver, BC

Suitable- For any age group (will adapt show accordingly)

Length of Show- 45 - 60 minutes

Fees range from $ 175 for individual class room, up to $ 425-700 for large groups in  the Lower Mainland.

For outside Vancouver needs to add transportation and expenses, and please  feel free to contact us, we are flexible

and adaptable  about accommodation, prices and traveling.

    

Technical Requirements- Acoustic play in classrooms and Own sound system for larger groups

 Instruments Played- Guitar, Charango (a small ten string type of mandolin), Flutes, Shakers,

Bombo (South American Drum), Harmonicas, Accordion,  and Cha-chas (percussion instrument)
